This course focuses on inclusive design thinking. 

It offers practical building accessibility, and real-world application.  The course helps participants understand not only what the law requires, but also what good practice looks like for a broad range of users, including people with hidden disabilities and fluctuating conditions.  It's designed for Property managers, facilities teams, architects, project managers, estates teams, designers, surveyors, building managers, operational managers, and anyone responsible for designing, adapting or managing buildings.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of the session delegates will be able to:

• Understand the relationship between equality, disability and inclusion.
• Explain key duties under the Equality Act 2010.
• Recognise accessibility barriers affecting people with a wide range of disabilities and conditions.
• Appreciate the needs of users with sensory, cognitive, neurodivergent and hidden disabilities.
• Understand the principles of inclusive design and reasonable adjustment.
• Identify common accessibility issues within buildings and external environments.
• Understand the purpose and value of access audits and access
• reviews.
• Apply best practice principles when designing, maintaining or refurbishing buildings.
• Better support their organisation in developing accessible, comfortable and inclusive environments.
